Your Simple, Step-by-Step Guide to a Smarter Skincare Routine

Why Layering Matters

You’ve invested in great skincare products but are you using them in the right order?

Layering your skincare products correctly ensures that each one absorbs properly and works effectively. When done right, your skin stays balanced, nourished, and protected throughout the day and night. Here’s your step-by-step guide to getting it right so your glow gets the full benefit.

Step-by-Step: How to Layer Your Skincare

1. Cleanser - Start with a clean canvas. Use a gentle cleanser that respects your skin barrier, both morning and night.

2. Toner or Essence - This preps your skin and adds hydration. Opt for ingredients like rose water, glycerin, or aloe to calm and hydrate.

3. Serums - These are your powerhouse treatments. Apply serums based on your skin goals like vitamin C in the morning or hyaluronic acid at night. Always apply serums while your skin is still damp.

4. Eye Cream - Tap a small amount around the eyes using your ring finger. No tugging, just gentle love.

5. Moisturizer - Lock it all in. Choose a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Gel for oily or combo skin, cream for dry or sensitive.

6. SPF (AM only) - Never skip this step. Finish your morning routine with a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ to protect from UV damage and prevent premature aging.

Bonus Tips for Better Results

  • apply products from thinnest to thickest texture

  • Give each layer 30–60 seconds to absorb

  • Don’t overload your routine - consistency > complexity

  • For PM routines, apply actives like retinol before moisturizer
